Dunkelweisse is our take on a traditional Bavarian style dark wheat beer. It's a fantastic excuse for us to make a style that we truly love and that inspires us. It's also damn tasty!
It pours a deep leathery brown and retains a beautifully dense head.
The aroma is stunning and gets you so damn excited, perhaps even nostalgic for youthful escapades on the continent. It smells of soft caramel and foam bananas.
When you can no longer resist the aroma, and submit to its invitation, you're thoroughly rewarded.
Thankfully, those overly sweet notes are paired back in the actual taste. There is still a good chew, a touch of caramel and that banana-y sweet flavours, but in a milder form balanced with some milk chocolate flavours, a bit of bitterness and an earthy finish that rounds out the whole experience.
The finish, like on most Kernel beers, is decently dry but some of the more prominent flavours linger for quite sometime, a delectable reminder to go back for another sip.
